Owner Cenk Ali has been operating the popular Mr Natural Pizza stores in St Kilda and Fitzroy for the past 15 years. His passion for the hospitality industry saw him seize the opportunity when the lease of the neighbouring premises became available.
Fitting out the store was hard work. Cenk, his wife, his father Ergün Ali as well as his uncle Cengiz Resa worked constantly to get the store up and running. After some despair, That Burger Joint could finally get started with running water and a gas line to actually grill some patties.

Another challenge was coming up with the perfect menu. With his
extensive culinary background, Cenk decided to sample world flavours across his burger range.
Their artisan buns and prime cut wagyu beef are two of the main reasons why his burgers are going viral all over social media.

Of course there are a few major stand outs on the menu. With a succulent lamb patty, grilled capsicum, dodoni feta and house made tzatziki, ‘I’m a Wog-Boy’ makes the perfect Mediterranean burger. ‘Fat Yak’ fulfills the dream of an authentic American burger with two wagyu beef patties, double cheese, mustard, ketchup and pickles encased in a Japanese milk bun.
